The Department of Chemistry of Babu Banarasi Das Northern India Institute of Technology formerly known as Norhern Inda Engineering College was established in the year 1999.Since then it has been actively engaged in research and teaching in the frontier areas of Engineering Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Spectroscopy techniques, polymer chemistry, Environmental chemistry and various other aspects related to physical and chemical nature of compounds. The department has a well equipped chemistry laboratory for analytical and synthetic work.

The department takes an immense pleasure to provide expertised faculty of Chemistry & Environment and Ecology. The Academicians in department are well qualified and motivated with a strong commitment towards teaching, research and extracurricular activities. The same is reflected in the number of paper presentations and publications by the department members all around the country and abroad which has made fundamental contribution to the subject.
